Axminster Town Council has issued an appeal to members of the public, after 'travellers' have set up pitch on Jubilee Field today.
The council says 'Do not confront the group' and that they are working with enforcement officers to get them moved off from Jubilee Field as soon as they can from the park in Boxfield Road.
Jubilee Field has been under ownership by the town council since May 2022, after being previously owned by East Devon District Council.
In a post on the Axminster Town Council Facebook page today (August 13), a spokesman said: "We are aware that around 15 caravans have pitched up at Jubilee Field without consent.
"We have been in touch with our enforcement officers, Devon Investigations, who will be attending the site today.
"We ask that residents do not confront the group and allow Devon Investigations to follow due process."
